Further information
We will travel by minibus to Fuente Dé, where the cable car will take us up to Picos de Europa. On the way to Fuente Dé, we will cross rivers, forests, small villages, and the famous Hermida Gorge.
Once there, you will have free time to explore the area or take the cable car to the upper station if you wish. The cable car ride lasts 4 minutes and will take you to a height of 1,823 meters above sea level. There, you can enjoy stunning views and explore the surroundings near the upper station! Another option we offer to enjoy your time at Fuente Dé is a 1-hour horseback ride through the nearby area.
Afterward, we will head to the Monastery of Santo Toribio, one of the four holy sites of Christianity. The significance of this monastery lies in the fact that it houses the *Lignum Crucis*, the largest preserved piece of wood from the Cross of Jesus. Here, we will make a brief stop for you to visit the monastery and see the *Lignum Crucis*. We will also take the opportunity to visit the viewpoint near the San Miguel hermitage, which offers beautiful views of the Picos.
Finally, we will arrive in Potes, the capital of Liébana and considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. The highlights of this village are its cobblestone streets, bridges, and the medieval tower known as the Torre del Infantado. We will take a short walking tour of the village, and afterward, you will have free time to have lunch or shop in any of the many souvenir stores.
